Possible theories about Plasmids/Vigors
Hello people, recently I've been thinking about the mechanics of Vigors and Plasmids. I have a couple of questions I want to ask and see what other peoples' opinions and theories about this topic.

First question, when Plasmids/Vigors are introduced into the human body, they directly rewrite your DNA and allow you to throw fire/shoot electricity/etc. Now, let's say that Jack meets a nice woman after the events of BioShock, then they decide they want to have a kid. Jack has introduced Plasmids into his body and therefore, his genetic code has been rewritten as such. Since a baby takes genetic material from both biological parents, and Jack's DNA has been changed, could he pass down Plasmids through his DNA to his child?

Second question, when characters like Jack, Delta and Booker get their hands on Plasmids and Vigors, you can see in plain sight that it has a sometimes negative effect on their hands and possibly bodies. One example is Incinerate/Devil's Kiss. When we see Jack use Incinerate, the only bad effect we can visually see are burn marks and his hand and fingers. When Booker uses Devil's Kiss, we can see his skin and flesh melting right off the bone. However, for both characters, when another Plasmid/Vigor is selected, their hands go back to being completely unharmed and they are even able to use other Plasmids/Vigors without any sort of damage. So essentially, what kind of effect would Plasmids/Vigors have on a human body? Would our heroes be potentially destroying their own bodies by using them?

Let me know what you guys think, your ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks :devilskiss: :possession: :shockjockey:

A. Yes, since the plasmids are rewriting the genetic code it would be possible to pass on the plasmid genes. However it seems to me like the plasmid modified genes would be recessive genes and therefore unless both parents posses the modified genes it would probaly be a pretty slim chance to pass it on.

B. I dont really believe its a negative effect. Seeing as your genes would be rewritten it would be come a natural process in you body. And if thats the case i dont belive it would be causing any real harm.

Plasmids need EVE.So it wouldn't really matter if the kids had plasmid genes,as there would be no way to use the plasmids.:shockjockey:

The human body can produce EVE/Salt given the proper food. Either that or the food is a working subsitute for EVE/Salt. Remember coffee and things with caffine raise the EVE/Salt level when consumed.

As for passing on plasmid/vigor abilities, I don't think so. The plasmid/vigor rewriting of genitics may make breeding with a normal person impossible or at least difficult. (a LOT of extra DNS is being tossed into the mix) In Bioshock 2 we never see any kids other than those taken from the surface or have any indication that any childern exist in Rapture. They talk about rebuilding the population, but don't see any evidence that it was happeing. sm

Completely forgot about that.Still, having plasmid genes may not be enough.:shockjockey:

In Bioshock 2 no there where no children. However in Bioshock 1 all the little sisters were created from children kidnapped from various places around rapture. There were also several audio diarys where people where referencing their children.
