Not sure if I want to play DLC now :(
Just finished Infinite and it made me lose interest in playing Burial at Sea.

This might sound odd but I like some sort of expansion of the main game when I get DLC's, a bit like if you have an RPG and the DLC adds more to the same and story but doesn't feel completely seperate (Neverwinter Nights 2 had a continuing DLC and one that was just weird and didn't feel part of anything).

I felt the ending of Infinite put total closure on the game and its universe and having a sort of alternate time/universe with the same characters seems odd.

I haven't obviously started Burial at Sea but I've heard that thending for that is sad or depressing so no spoilers please ;)

What do you guys think anyway?

have you felt like that with other games and DLC?

I agree that the ending of Infinite gave total closure. If you want my personal opinion on the dlc without spoiling details: I think the two episodes of Burial at Sea are well-produced games, with stunning art-direction, voice-acting, and the gameplay is a little better However, from a narrative standpoint, as a continuation/definitive conclusion to Infinite, its not that good though it has its moments. One reason is because episode 2 has a heavy dissonance from the base game. I think they are worth playing, but depending how big a fan you are of Infinite, the narrative and its ending may leave you with mixed feelings.

Maybe take a long break before you start the DLC? IMO, the DLCs for this game are fantastic.

Take a break from the game then come back :)

I can only recommend it. It made me feel better about Infinite as a whole. It's really good/well put together.

Thanks for the advice, I decided to take a break because the same characters + different timelines can really confuse things, whereas a fresh story can be more fun :)

For me at least.

You need to play BaS in order for the circle to come in full.

It can in a universe where Booker made a deal with Comstock to fight all these people in arenas made for Booker's bloodlust.

Or......

"Would you kindly fight in the arena." ;)

Well, here is my thoughts on the matter. Infinite should have ended at the drowning scene where Booker and Elizabeth disappeared. But instead we got the tacked on Rapture ending which makes ZERO sense because of the drowning scene we had just seen. Burial at Sea 1 and 2 are a) an attempt to explain (poorly) why Elizabeth and Booker are still alive despite the drowning scene we saw and b) an attempt to bridge games and connect Bioshock 1 (and 2 in the timeline of things) and Bioshock Infinite and it doesn't come across so well.

If you haven't played the previous Bioshock games than no, the DLC doesn't fit Infinite at all because Rapture is just some random place to you and not Columbia.

That sounds about right.

I thought it was just a cheeky reference to Bioshock 1 and 2 as it wasn't really linked to anything in particular - more like "Hey fans, look at this!"

I took it that the events of burial at sea were happening sort of simultaniously with the ending of the main story.
