Bioshock 2 Random crash.

At first, I got through the first 'level', if you will, went to load level two, had Tenenbaum talk for like a second, then it crashed. 'Bioshock 2 has stopped working' Now it crashes everytime i click single player. What do i do now? Im sick of these errors.

check your ram and the game's system requirements... I'm no expert though.

I played the first level flawlessly on medium graphic settings. I didnt lag out or.. anything.

Mine crashes at the same point every time (after the 2nd Tenenbaum message). Think I'll just give up on it; shame, as I loved the original Bioshock...

Bioshock HARD crashes for me on the first level right after the big sister cracks the window open and a torrent of water comes in. And when I say crash, I mean my computer instantly shuts off and will not reboot until a hard restart.

No one knows, not even the Stream support guys. I sent a 1:1 about it and all that got accomplished was their 'support' team sending me the same copy pasted ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ response twice in a row, saying to do the same things, even though i had JUST got done saying i tried everything in their post and nothing worked. Unless the community can figure it out or we find something though googling, we're screwed. Why are all the 'support tech teams' for EVERY game-involved website absolute ♥♥♥♥?

The game crashes for me right after acquiring the rivet gun. Is there no fix for it?

Also, not sure if related or not, but it gives me an error when logging into GFWL, yet I'm able to continue as if I am logged in after it redirects me to the start screen

I highly doubt there is. Consumers dont care about the player base anymore nowadays. They just want people to fill their pockets.

I had the same crash after the big sister broke the window but it was fine until I got to the last level. Now it crashes a few minutes after I load my save. When I verify the integrity of the game cache steam downloads a bunch of files it says are missing but I've done that twice and it doesn't help with the crashing.

I had same random crashes and found a fix (for me at least). For some reason I don't know, my Bioshock2 folder in My Documents had the "Read only" checked. I removed that and now plays flawlessly.

Go to My Documents, right click on Bioshock2 folder and uncheck "Read only" attribute. Profit!

I had the exact problem as you, but u found a solution on the forums it is this:

Steam for some reason is downloading version 1.0 of bioshock 2 at the moment, so downloading the latest patch for bioshock 2 should solve it. i got it from:

http://www.fileplanet.com/209922/download/BioShock-2---Patch-v1.5

When you install this patch it may still crash, this is because your old save games are still in the save folder in my documents, and are corrupted. delete these old saves and the game should run in latest version without crashing. I also reinstalled games for windows live, but not sure if this is necessary.

p.s. this means u have to re-play the first level, but i guess thats not as bad as the game crashing. win some lose some.

I got exactly the same issues. WTF is this?
