Questions about BTS, etc
Are the mods found on Civfanatics compatible with Steam games??? I came back to IV, after readingabout BTS, but I can't get answers on site, because I have wrong type of email(old folk here). Is the Steam version of BTS 3.19??

Also, the combat results are just really frustrating. One can't depend on winning battles you should, becuase of old random/type results; and I have never been able to out produce or out research the AI, even on easy to medium difficulties. It's what turn me off originally with IV!!

So, is there a Mod that makes combat fairer??? I saw Dales Combat(I think the name) but couldn't decifer if it really makes things fairer.

I know there are lots of post about particular mods, not much about what any one does different from vanilla; even on the sites, they give vague stuff; Is there any YouTube videos to see how the mods work???

Mods change things. Some of them significantly, some of them simply. Mods can change almost literally everything about a game. One of the Let's Plays of the one of the biggest mods can be found here: It is on the Caveman2Cosmos mod. It is a total conversion mod, so it changes the game in so many ways.

Also, this is v3.19.

Is it just me, or is the combat in Caveman2cosmos really bad???!! I have yet been able to take any AI cities; one hovers over AI city and it says 2 archers(let's say) AND you kill off 2 archers, BUT, guess what? there's still 2 archers in the city; kill those 2 and whala, there's 2 more that shows up and so on, costing one 20 units to take these down; there's no end!!! I thought the vanilla and BTS was bad but this is rediculous!!

Also, I keep having to verify the files, before and after playing, and steam keeps re-aquiring files, yet doesn't seem to be aquiring & keeping. Anyone heard of this??? I had trouble with CIV5 for a while also aways back.

Any input will be welcomed.
