So..how do the expansions work exactly?

When I play Beyond the Sword does that also have all the features added in from Warlords as well?

From what I found, everything except the scenarios. I'm not Civ savvy, so not sure exactly what that includes. But I'm pretty sure you can skip it. I just want to know why this expansion is bigger than the base game.

I think I found the answer to my question as well as yours. You just need to install Beyond The Sword. That has everything you need to play the game. You're right. You just don't have the other scenarios.
