Problems getting 5th player into games

Anyone have issues getting a 5th player into multiplayer internet games? Seems that after the 4th person joins the game says its full 4/4 and then disappears from the list of games for the 5th person.

Maybe you should try making a game for 6 players, and see if 5 people can join a game set up for 6.

we set it up for 10. After everyone joins then we switch the rest to AI

Yes, 4 seems to be the limit. I messaged steam support re this, no response yet.

I'm also getting this error. I messaged 2K Support and get a whole slog of emails asking to confirm that I actually had the game and then getting a response saying my internet was too bad to even PLAY multiplayer.

I don't exactly have the best internet, but I've been in at least 20 or 30 multiplayer games with next to no problems. Pretty confident this came about with the transferring of the Gamespy servers to Steamworks.

I have only met 2 dudes who don't have this error so far. But both of them refused (repeatedly under many different excuses) to show me how they are playing with more than 4.

P. S. We were trying to make some games on evolvehq while gamesupport is trying to start to work on the problem.

I also tried using GameRanger to see if that would make it work a while ago. Unfortunately it didn't.
Guess we just gotta wait.

Try "LAN" over Hamachi

to Jonnehicles. On gameranger it won't work cause it uses direct-ip, and as it turns out gamespy servers are required to be running if anybody wants to play direct ip with more than 2 people per game.
