Xbox 360 pad for windows problem

I'm trying to use an xbox 360 pad with race 07, everything works great except the steering

The problem is, I steer, say to the left on full lock, then when I let go of the analogue stick the steering wheel pings back the centre instantly (this is realistc of course as in with a real steering wheel), however I want to achieve the effect you get on consol games such as forza where the steering moves to the centre again quickly but not instantly.

I have fiddled with the steering lock settings in options and the steering lock settings in car tuning all to no avail (in fact I cannot see any discernable difference whatsoever!).

I then tried downloading xbcd to tune my pad settings but this seems to be a whole world of pain.

Does anyone know if there is some .cfg file or settings or software I can use to get the desired effect as it is currently ruining my experience of what seems to be a great game otherwise

In game, but NOT in a server as not all Options are available unless you start from the Main Menu - choose Options - Control Options - Advanced (i think) - you will see a set of 'bars' for steering, throttle, brake and clutch - which should respond when you press the relevant button, You'll also find settings for steering sensitivity as well as analogue sectors - save your current and create a new controller profile - so you can come back to what you have now - then mess around with the steering sensitivity until you get one that feels comfortable. Any idea if a PS3 controller will work with this game? I use a logitch controler now, but analog doesnt function properly, I can only go full left and right and full throttle and full brake.
