Worth Buying
Ive been looking into getting into a MMO for awhile now and after looking at old posts this game seems pretty fun and challenging but requires lots of micromanagement and time, if i was looking for that in a game to begin with is it worth it or not?

hello, i think it can be worth it if you jump into it, its not a game where you can really tiptoe, pick a way to go generally mining or mission running are good starts, either have the potential to make good isk, but keep in mind that it is a slow paced game for the most part. its not a wow or guild wars 2, this one is very challenging but can be rewarding as well. ive played off and on for the last 4 years, if you want to try it id be happy to send you a 21 day trial, it'll give you a sort of preview of the game, but dont expect to hop right into a battlecruiser within a week and go boomboom. feel free to message me on here :)

I know someone who'd love to help you out and answer all your questions. He even gives new players the full reward for signing up with his buddy invite (most people will only offer you half, if they even tell you about it). Unfortunately he's been banned from the steam forum for responding to a troll.

Grumpymunky iz grumpy?

"Responding to" or "being a" troll? Sometimes there is very little difference.

what are the full benefits of the sign up? i havent played in 2 years so things have changed, it used to be just free 30 days
which if they like the game id have no issue with giving that to em if possible.

Buddy invite is still the same 30 days but they just yesterday introduced a recall program aimed for getting back those who haven't played for very long time with some specific rewards.

I got into it this last summer when I built my pc. I enjoyed how the game was more of an adult communty, and the game because of that had a more mature feel to the world and how it operated. I also liked how in depth this game was with all of it's stuff.

What I didn't like though was how you can get killed anywhere anytime even in so called safe area's. I also didn't like how you trained for things. The fact some things take years.....

I think the final nail in the coffen for me was dying with 1b in assets leaving the main trade hub of the game the momment I undocked. It's nice to see a game based of trading where you literally can't do any trading unless you can fly the biggest strongest transport ships in the game. oh and that'll be a year or two before you can use those. Ya I'll be waitingaround for star citizen I think.

You can make massive amounts of money from trading without even undocking.

Jump Freighters, which weren't even meant for hauling stuff around in highsec, take less than a quarter of a year. Freighters and Deep Space Transports take less than 4 weeks. Orcas take less than 3 weeks. Even Badgers can be fitted with a monster tank, and you can fly them on your very first day.

No such thing as a "safe" area in EVE. Some areas are safer, but there's no absolute safety anywhere. An open-world pvp system is one of EVE's main draws, and while it's not for everyone, it's what makes the game rather unique.

As someone who ganks, I want you to know that I myself have also been ganked, usually because I decided to do very stupid things. It's a vicious, but very hilarious cycle. You have to remember that assets in EVE are transient, and not get attached to anything you own. If you find yourself getting attached to something, then you shouldn't own it.

As far as getting ganked goes, it's a relatively simple formula. If you carry something worth over about 75 million in a completely untanked hauler, you're likely to get ganked along the main trade routes. Past that initial tiny buffer on a T1 hauler, you can maybe add on another 50m of load value for every 10k of EHP you have. If you're flying any sort of non-capital hauler with more than 300-400m or so of stuff inside, you become a target. If you're flying a freighter, you become a target at the 1.0-2b range. If you're flying a tanked Orca (damage control, bulkheads), you become a target at the 2-3b range.

And never, ever fly between the main trading hubs on autopilot. Hope that helps.
