Thinking about getting back - my old account?
Hey! I'm interested in trying EVE again. Last time I played was a couple of years ago and it wasn't on Steam. Is it possible that my account still exists and can I get it working with Steam? I can't seem to download the client on Steam. Would it work even if I had a subsrciption? Thanks in advance!

Your account exists, but it won't be through Steam. It will remain a normal EVE account just like it was before, even if you resub it. The only way to get EVE on Steam is to get a starter pack here, and that will make a brand new account for you.

Too bad. Are there many who play through Steam then? Are there any other benefits than to get all your games in one place and get access to the Steam options?

Steam has just been easy to me and that's why I want to keep everything through Steam. However, if it's not worth it then perhaps this time I should go through the old EVE client...

People playing through Steam probably make up a tiny percentage of the EVE population. Lower single digits for sure. You don't really get any benefits by playing through Steam, aside from a secondary community, which you can access anyway. And cards I guess.

I see. Thanks for your thoughts, Shotgun!

Might also add the semi-regular connection problems with steam client that neither CCP or STEAM seems to be able to solve or even agree on whose end the problem actually is ?

Interesting point. Thanks!
