General issues after a few days of attempting to play
I was so excited to play this when all of my excitement was shot down by a message

"Failed to find Steam."

After restarting the steam client and after another attempt to launch the game i was greeted with yet another dissapointing message

"You do not have a valid Steam subscription for this application [AppId=8400]"

At that point i figured steam was having trouble processing that i had actually owned the game

After waiting approximately 24 hours i made a third attempt at running the game which resulted in another error message

"Problem Checking Steam application."

The next thing i tried was "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE" which brought it back to no valid subscription for the application.

ive tried deleting the game and reinstalling it

ive tried restarting my computer

ive tried reinstalling the steam client itself

ive tried deleting ClientRegistry.blob




what should i try next

or should i just wait for someone steamside to fix it

if it helps im running Windows 7 Ultimate x64

I get the same thing you do, and ive tried all those fixes. I'm running win 8 64 pro. I have no idea where to turn now.
