Xbox One Controller Disconnecting

I've just upgraded to an xbox one controller, which has been working great with all my other games. Whenever I boot up JC2, after a few seconds of being able to run around, the controller stops functioning in any way. I'll start running, and after 5 seconds or so, whatever position the joystick was in, Rico will just keep running that way, and no buttons on the controller will work. I can't figure it out, since every other game seems to deal with the controller just fine. Any suggestions?

Maybe you can download something like joy2key or xpadder or similar since jc2 native controller support does not seem the greatest
