If you're having trouble with the physics or grappling hook, enable Vsync.
Solved my problems. Encountered weird ass bug right at the beginning when I kept trying to put the boxes on the switch only to have it fly away in a circular motion. Also had troubles where I couldn't pull an object after grappling. So far vsync has resolved the issues.

I'm having both issues while streaming Tomb Raider Underworld to my Samsung 4K TV via nVidia Shield Pro. Hope to find the VSYNC option in settings or 60 FPS limit. Found the Vsync setting and confirmed it corrected the issues while streaming from rigs at Steam vs streaming from my gaming computer.

The game's physics engine is tied to its framerate. Above 60 FPS things get wonky.
10 years later, people still struggling to run this game. 10 years later, still always a nice surprise to see people revisit old gems
It should be pretty obvious that the game will be buggy if being ran at above 60fps because its common general knowledge that most 7th gen and below games are very buggy when played at above 60fps
