Another thoughtful and charming release from Wadjet Eye. Worth a playthrough, as ever, for nostalgia or a desire for classic point & click mechanics, Gemini Rue also offers a neatly character focused narrative with decently conjured, if a little familiar, sci-fi concepts at its heart.
More than that, there is a real pleasure in playing games which offer a sense of personality and individual craft; it provides a charm which lets the player see past the occasional clanger in the script, impossible-to-find pixel art or voice direction which misses the mark. The aesthetic, story and sound design all add up to a delightfully persistent little experience. As a creator, Joshua Nurenberger is one to watch, and Wadjet Eye remain a fantastic contributor to the industry.
[I'm very late to the party on this one; I played it after the Blackwell series & Primordia, among others.]
