Population limit?
I've been playing the game on and off for a while, it's pretty difficult!

I was looking at the red cards involving baby boom and agriculture jobs and I don't really see any clear hint on if the farming is limited by population or by land amount? I'm guessing it could be limited more by water stress, but what would be the most possible output and the ultimate population limit by end tech?

Ah, I see you're asking yourself about what the last picture in this game looks like. The long term approach - very good! :D

While I haven't finished myself the '3 degrees' mission -yet- I can confidently tell you that there is no limit to those ratios. You can fidle with them as you like, on the long run. HOWEVER, it gets quite difficult o get to and then manage a global population of 12Billion (there's an acheivment for this). The min. limit can get even under 100million (there's an achievement for this too), but you won't get there with just the 'One child' policy card, or even 'Covert Sterilisation'. It has to be smth more extreme... wink-wink!
Agriculture, in my view, provides a steady source of income although you start with puny budgets compared to industry or commerce. It's also the more 'sustainable' option (long-run) and increseasing this means you won't have problems with those pesky famines! In all my games, all territories under my control are always self-sufficient, even areas with extreme water stress (which I tackle in the early game). A strong agriculture, provides the basis for a strong economy :)

Tip: Don't hire agents in either Japan/Oceania, for the first couple of... 20rounds :D
They 'eat' way too much money, and give in return way too little, and if left alone they are self-suficient and pollute very little.

On a diffrent note, I suggest you play around 5-8hours/day, 3days and you'll know everything you need to about this game and you'll be able to enjoy it in the future (when you play it sporadic) ^^ Srry for the long post!

... Or you can just continue posting questions here, I don't mind lol
I'm not sure if there is a hard coded population limit but after so high you will have trouble feeding them. High yeild crops will help a lot with this issue but can be expensive to renew every few turns. You also have to dig for information if you need to play it, made worst that the famine card shows up even if you don't need it.

Rising sea levels will remove some of your farm land as well as cards like protecting land and saving the animals.

Population is a balancing act and it's all about how you want to play. If you kill people off they use less resources but there are less people working to get those high GDP. A high population will use more resources (not much of an issue late game), they will polute more even after everything is done to reduce polution. They will also yield a very high GDP. I have played many times where a high population nets me over 1K each turn in late game.

I prefer having a high population, also like Sabn1 I grow agriculture. I only do it when job share is available. Playing both will drop unemployment fast (unless something is causing it to increase while you try to decrease it).

I have gotten the 12 billion population achievement. I think I did it on the Denial mission.
