Will purchases of the game itself assist in funding the sequel?
I mean, I woudl assume so.

Good question! The critical thing is to raise enough money to fund a block of production work. That can only happen if our Kickstarter succeeds. Steam purchases are incremental and support us to continue doing things like giving free copies to educational institutions, but cannot get us into production on the sequel.

Kickstarter pledges can choose Fate of the World: Tipping Point as reward, at the best discount that we can offer. So over the period of Kickstarter campaign we would value your support there. Even though we love Steam!

Okay, I'll be /that/ guy...
So I'm not so lazy that I won't Google it, but to get further interest from fans who are close to my level of laziness, could you please post a link to the Kickstarter campaign?

I LOVED the original game and it's one of the games I've logged my most hours into, so I look forward to a sequel!

The last post before yours was 3 years ago. Apparently the kickstarter failed.

It did. I for one was upset to see they wanted to make it an online game. I prefer single player games and nitch games that are online end up dying very quickly.

I recommend to the develop they try EA since they couldn't kickstarter the money and they said they would not be doing EA. Last I heard they were trying to get money some other way but that was about a year ago.
