Well nobody claimed it was tomb raider 1 with HD,,, why dont you inform yourself about a game before you buy it, instead of buying it and then whining on the forum..
This game is a remake of the first tomb raider and its a really good remake imo.

Basicaly its a remake of the very first Tomb Raider with a make over, Familiar environments, some reimagined old environments, new game play mechanics. Some new environments.
Its an Anniversary game, revisits some of the old mixed with some updated and new content.

I played the Origonal TR on (1996) Sega Saturn, and TR 2 & 3 on PS1,So far I've revisited some of the old Tombs & scenarios that I remember from way back on my Sega Saturn version.Sega had the worst version and was not going to get a TR2 or 3 version(Saturn crashed and burned)
If its not 100% true to every momment of the old old TR1 thats ok I still feel the nastalgia intended by this game.

It's a REMAKE. Very few remakes are the same as the originals. Take Resident Evil. The remake was vastly different. And as for the controls and level design, if by "******'d up" you mean "better", then, yes, I agree.

Just finished Anniversary, and whew, reminds me how tough the original was first time through.
The game is true to the atmosphere of the original though and revisits similar places...off to Legends then Underworld

It's a pretty good remake.
With better controlls and stuff.

It's the best TR to date.

Ya you are out of your mind! This is an original TR fans wet F'ing dream pal!! This is THE Tomb Raider experience right here 100%!

IMHO is a great Tomb Raider experience. Bunch of riding, not so much fighting, and the controls... well I didn't like the fact that the game correct your bad jumps almost 90% of the time, but turning on manual grab is actually a very cool and challenging ride.

This is an excellent TR game (I own it for PS2). I don't see how it is crap. It is certainly closer to being a true Tomb Raider game than the 2013 reboot.
Manguas Apr 15, 2013 @ 2:40pm
This game is great because of original TR gameplay with modern game dynamics.
xxy Apr 15, 2013 @ 8:00pm
there is no ♥♥♥♥ing original tr gameplay in this game.
its just a cheap spin off of a more recent crappy tr title.

Well, it kept me entertained for a long time - the puzzles were complex, the areas were huge and you really had to think, something not really required in the recent Tomb Raider releases. Additionally, the Croft Manor level was amazing and just as good to play as the main story. That is why I really liked Anniversary

I enjoyed this game. I played only a bit of the original as the graphics made it hard to discern the path...I don't remember getting out of the cave! This one looks gorgeous, and once I figured out the difference between jumping and dodging for the adrenaline shot, plays well. Only a few places where I really got stuck and needed a walk through. Some traps drove me nuts, but they weren't impossible.

Not sure yet if this game is good or bad yet, but conrols are really screwed up. Maybe for dudes who loves new TR games (starting from Legend) are feeling comfortable with such controls, but i 'm not. Instead of 1 action buttion that was used for shooting, grabbing, pushing/pulling, interacting with switches and locks, now there's like 3 different buttions (1 for interacting, 1 for shooting, 1 for grabbing). Then we get additional sneaking function, grapling hook and no 'look' key, which makes thing even more confusing. So how this game is supposed to be played? Keyboard + mouse or gamepad + mouse? But then if i don't wanna use mouse, i can't control camera? So, how you play this game?
