yes, because it's a new experience. the game is awesome and everything you would expect from a TR game (not including the reboot.... which shouldn't even be called Tomb Raider imo...). but you have to go into this game understanding that it is NOT a clone of the original with updated graphics and engine. there is scenery and areas that you will remember that will bring back the memories and lots of new, fresh areas that set it apart as a whole new uique experience :)

it doesn't, at all. there's little to nothing that the reboot has in common with any of the other games in the TR franchise other than you play as Laura Croft and the game is called Tomb Raider. the reboot is a straight up 3rd person shooter. Laura is a brutal killer in the reboot. you will kill more enemies in savage hand-to-hand combat with blood spraying everywhere than all other TR games combined, and that's like only in the first 2 hours of the game, and also not including all the enemies you will be killing with the guns! the tombs you come across are like minor little mini puzzles that are incredibly simple and small (it literally wouldn't make a difference if they weren't even part of the game). so if you go into the reboot thinking you're going to get a real TR experience you're in for a rude awakening, BUT, if you just look at it as a 3rd person shooter and don't think of it as a tomb raider game it's still a really good game. but honestly they should have just called it something else and named the main character something else. because it definitely is NOT a TR game. it's more like Indiana Jones had a baby with Far Cry 3, and that baby then had a baby with Assassin's Creed and it became a 3rd person shooter.....

I loved th new Tomb Raider, I've played all of them and think that the new one is one of the best. There is a lot (and I mean A LOT) of shooting but it's done so well that it doesn't really matter. It's got one of the best, if not the best, storyline, the gameplay is next to perfect and the atmosphere is excellent. I can't fault the new one other than it's taken the series in a different direction but even then the series needed to do something different imo

Play the Anniversary demo. If you like how they reimagined the Peru waterfall area in Anniversary and how the updated controls work with the new level design, you'll probably enjoy the rest of the game.

it's "Lara" Croft, and it's "Lady Lara Croft" to you.
