Glitch in Egypt

I'm in this hallway where a smasher is smashing a spike that I have to jump on but every time I time it and make my jump she slides off even if I stick it perfectly she still falls off. Anybody else having trouble with this? It's really driving me nuts. It's like the margin of error for player movement has been removed and it makes it impossible to beat this one area.
