Menus not displaying correctly

Sup everyone,

For the last several months, every time I log into a game that runs on the original Half-Life engine, none of the menus display correctly. In CS:CZ, nothing works. If I click on anything, the menu will open is it always does, but all of the options are jumbled together in the upper left corner, and though sometimes one or two items can be clicked, I have no way of seeing what they are or what they do.

I have tried everything. I have changed the launch options to the settings recommended by others in support threads, I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times, I have downloaded and installed the font pack, reset steam, restarted, and verified the game files. Nothing has worked.

I have a ticket open with Steam support, but it's been there since Sunday, and I haven't heard from them, so I'm trying this. It's been months of this, and since I cancelled my WoW sub, I'm dying to play.

I'm running Mac OSX Snow Leopard BTW.

It's an older OS, but it's perfect for me, and it shouldn't give me any problems with running HL or CS.

Anyone have any ideas about what I should do?

verify the game cache, that should work

I have a same issue. Unable to see complete menus in settings or the buy menu. Verifying cache did not help.
