How difficult is this game?
I like an atmospheric game, but I am not a big fan of survival horror.
I want to play this game for its atmosphere. Is it possible to do so without being too frustrated and too scared?
Whenever I play a survival horror game, I rage quit when I am overwhelmed by enemies I can't kill.

it's more thriller/atmospheric then real horror. that's not to say it isn't scary, it can be at times for sure.

difficulty can be annoying at certain points but for the most part it keeps a steady pace throughout the game.

the main issue is getting it to run on your PC with its ridiculous hardware demands.
i remember around when it first came out people couldn't run it with 4870 x2's or 280's in SLI.
on my 570 I run it at 1080p but it varies from 50 fps to 20.

I usually turn off my AA, and most settings to medium when I play a game. (I have a laptop with GT 555M, which is okay for most modern games at a high setting with no AA on a laptop screen.)

Great concept of heat = life, and replaying/modifying last moments.

Regarding difficulty: Until the last chapter, I had no problems. Then I read some hints on what to do (or not do) and then had no problems. As already mentioned, it's more atmospheric than shooter or horror, although it does have elements of all.

Regarding performance: I played it a while ago on what was already an ordinary gaming PC, and had no problems with machine performance. (It's not so heavy on the action that your frame rate matters *that* much. It's more important what you *decide* to do, than getting a perfect shot or a quick shot.)

To be honest, it sounds like the genre might not be for you. Cyrostasis has a pretty heavy, claustrophobic atmosphere and its survival mechanics (as mentioned, heat sources as life, as well as ammo scarcity) sound like something you might find frustrating.

Just bought and installed the game. The combat is okay in the first stage, and I quite enjoy beating the crap out of zombies. I just hate games with enemies you have to avoid.

The game is quite easy. Really. It feeds on the atmosphere and not the diffuculty.

its not that difficult, its just different to your usual fps fare. Its a slower pace but really good.
