All those lucky people who wont waste their cash on this now..
Good game in its time but showing its age now and never as frightening as some would have you believe...

You should be thanking Steam for this...

Amazon has copies. I am sorry to see it go from the Steam store, even with all its glitches, lag from ice PhysX and crashes, it's not a bad game at all. All it needs is a good patching. In fact, I'd even say it's the best game Action Forms made.

But, I've heard Action Forms is no more. "It has since split it's crew into two different groups, Beatshapers and Tatem Games and work on different projects, namely console and mobile ports and games."

This has been my #1 wishlist game for the longest time. I was hoping to get it on sale at some point. It's actually pretty disappointing to see it is unavailable. /sadface. In regard to whether or not it's scary, I don't particularly think that is the entire point. It's a game worth playing, even if it is aged. I still go back occasionally and play old Resident Evil games which look quite aged now but it's worth it because those games have wonderful story lines. I hope Cryostasis comes back else I might actually have to buy it elsewhere :(

Yes but it is relevant if the game plays on that or uses it as part of its storytelling..
The game has neither a good story nor the ability to tell it properly..
Its completely the point..

It's a fantastic atmospheric horror game if you're into that sort of thing and should be easy enough to find still on other gaming sites like gamersgate or gog or maybe amazon or something. It's also occasionally in indie bundles. The only real problem with it is that it is very badly optimized and tends to hit nearly any system very hard, especially during battles. The game itself though is fantastic, I can't play it in the winter because it's so immersive I literally feel colder, lol.

Nuts. Well I have a gamersgate giftable copy so if someone really wants to pick this game up now, I'm sure we could figure out a good trade.

I'm entering the giveaways related to this game...
Even if seems weird to me they removed it on purpose...

Completed it for the 2nd time and it's a winner for me. It's a game with bags of atmosphere and this is something I specifically look for in any title - I can forgive a lot if the atmosphere and feeling of the environment is good. Graphics are nice (sometimes spectacular), if a little short on variety, story is compelling but ultimately difficult to decipher. But the game's world and the creepiness of that world is top notch.

Sadly, as everyone has already said, it's poorly optimised and can bring any system to its knees. I was able to run it with all settings on high with an acceptable fps between 30 and 50, but I also suffered from a degree of micro stutter the whole way and the game crashed on chapter 14 at one specific spot (I think it was) until I lowered everything to medium. Overall though, not a huge problem for me. No other crashes or loss of save files etc. Just chapter 14.

You can find a copy of Cryostasis (steam version) at http://www.steamtrades.com/forum
I bought the game from steamtrades for $3.70, and activated it on steam.

you should still be able to find retail copies, i dont think it had any drm so you could probs find a used copy on ebay for £1 plus postage. its a shame it runs really bad on all pcs ive tried to play it on, looked like sure a great concept for a game too.

Is that before of after the many years Steam folk left it on the store page? No its the people that took the time to complain about the problems that you should be thanking.
