Men of War

Is there any difference in weapons from the same class besides clipsize and rate of fire?
I am pretty new to Men of War, but one of the first things that got me, was being able to pick up enemy weapons.

Now I wondered if there are any differences between weapons from the same class? Let's say a M1 Garand and the Mauser. Mauser has a clip of 5 bullets, M1 has 8 bullets in each clip. I have noticed some weapons also seem to have different fire rates (FG-42 seems to have slower RoF than for example, MG-42, both considered a machine gun in the game).

But are there any other differences? Like, precision/penetration/damage? Or is this just as generic as the ammo they use (no calibers are used in handguns, just rifle/smg/mg ammo)?

There shouldn't be any difference as far as damage and penetration goes, but some rifles are more accurate. That and the differences in RoF and clip size that you've already mentioned.
Thanks for the answer. Read it already after you posting it, but forgot to comment. :)
