Running Men of War on Windows 8.1

I purchased the game but neglected to read the requirements carefully enough. Only when I came to play the game did I realise that Windows 8.1 (64-bit) was not supported.

True enough, when I ran it all I got was the program has stopped working message. I tried to alter the compatibility settings in mow.exe but there was no tab that allowed for setting compatibility to different Windows versions.

Given that I have a library of PC games numbering over 400, ranging from 1981-2014, and that all but two of them won't run on my Windows 8.1 PC, I figured "what the heck, I must be ahead of the game in the compatability stakes" ... and was resigned to writing this game off.

However ... by disabling my Anti-Virus program (BitDefender 2013) and then running the game ... all works just dandy.

I'm not saying this will solve evryone's problems with this game and Windows 8.1, but it's worth a try guys.
