Something wrong
Yesterday I was playing my first xcom playthrough. I had saved it right as i was in the middle of my first terror mission. I ended up beating it and started deveoping laser pistols and rifles and even personal armour. I had purchased a whole bunch of buildings scientists and engineers and progressed so much that day. Then the second terror mission showed up and I felt like getting off xcom and created a seperate save file for it. So I did what i normally do. I held the power button down until the computer powered down. I know this is a weird way to shut it down but my computer seems to only shut down when i do that. Anyway when I come back the next day the seperate save file with all the progress was gone. Ive had no problems before with that methode of shutting down the computer. How did it happen? Can I get it back?

first of all, using the power button that way to turn off the computer is a no no and should only be done on emergency. It causes possible data corruption of the operating system, In case you didnt know windows is not and has never been a rock solid operating system.

that being said, you probably corrupted a file.
