why is Bioshock rated so High?
96/100, is that an overrated score or is the game really a 96/100. Also I know this game is for consoles, how is this pc steam version?

It's good so far for me. Maybe not 96, but definitely 90, or high 80's.

I consider Bioshock a 9.

Because is different to anything else that I've played. (I'm more a FPS MP guy )

Is not scary, is dark, creepy, original story... I don't know

Because when it was released the graphics were out of this world.

Lots of things are great. For starters: The story of Rapture is amazing and immersive, because of the art style the graphics will always look good, its highly original gameplay, and just the over all tone of the game. I still get shivers down my spine playing it. and I am used to playing dead space and fear a lot.

This steam sale got me intersted but the price on Amazon was even better, both games for $7.49! Uploading them on Steam was easy, downloading now. Guess I'll finally get my chance to check out these games

First of all, you have to remember that this game was out in 2007! These graphics were amazing at that time! Also, BioShock is VERY artistic! There are great scenarios and the environment is well done. I didn't go far enough in the story, so I can't say anything else, but I'm sure there is a 96 there for a good reason :) Half Life 2 has a 98 and I wouldn't say it has the best graphics! :P Graphics are not everything...

I would give BioShock a 96, definetely. First off, it has amazing artwork that blew me away the first time I went into Rapture, it has amazing gameplay and an immersize storyline. The one complaint I have about BioShock is that the controls are kinda weird for me. That might not be the same for you, but I play it on PS3 and R2 is shoot, unlike a lot of games I've been playing recently.

The thing is that even when is a FPS, it is completly differente than any other FPS. Great story, great mechanics, art is beautiful. Try it, it is very cheap right now

IMO it's def a 96. I played both the xbox and the pc version and I prefer the pc because I think the game plays better on the KBM than the controller.

One of the best videogame storylines, excellent graphics (older game) and great gameplay.

It is 96 because it is awesome.

I have just played it again, as there are not many games like it around. The graphics, the music and sounds, the lunatics talking to themselves, it is dark and creepy, the story allows me to suspend my sense of disbelief, it is original, enemies are merciless, and playing at hard setting one gets a good challenge. And the sequence toward the end, where you have to escort the little girl who is gathering Adam, is the single most intense experience I had with a video game.

At the current price it is a bargain, if you don't yet own it. I have played it both on a low end system (Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics with Intel i5 @ 2.5 GHz CPU) and a better gaming rig (NVIDIA GTX 670 with Intel i8 @ 3.5 GHz CPU) and the game graphics scaled well.

Oh I bought it, but not from steam, Amazon was selling a Bioshock dual pack for $7.49 so I took advantage of it. Today its back up to $39.99 so I'm feeling lucky!!

Its not a console game..
Original release is PC..

its a 96 because it is what it is, a "horror"-fps that takes a slight RPG element without the whole "go grind" aspect.
