This game is easy?

When reading reviews and comments and such, I've heard people complain about this game being too easy. I always play games on medium the first go, so I began playing this game on normal. However, after spending 8 hours dying, running out of ammo, and having to run back from the nearest Vita Chamber, I'm beginning to wonder if this is actually true. Maybe I'm just no good at FPS (I've never really liked them but I really enjoy BioShock's story), but I feel like there's so much going on in this game that Medium is actually hard!

I'm currently at the beginning of Neptune's Bounty (goal is to find Fontaine Fisheries) and my question is: does the game get easier? Because I'm really tired of dying at the first few hits of an enemy blow and having to run back half way across the map.

for me i found it quite the challenge the first time but the second time i played through on the same difficulty, increddibly easy!

I had big problems the first time I went through because I didn't use the search option where you can search dead bodies and containers for health kits and ammo, and rarely noticed the EVE hypo and health kit on the floor.

Just beat Infinite so I went back to the original. Bioshock is harder and somehow still has more depth.

It might be just your skills that are failing... I'm playing on medium and only died to Daddies a few times. You can change the difficulty to easy in the options somewhere, if I remember correctly.

I'm currently on my first playthrough and at the beginning it has been easy, my approach is to play the game more as an explorer sightseeing rather than as a shooter. Playing that way was fine until the first Big Daddy shows up, after dying about 9 times in a row I opted to hit and run back through the levels with the BD chasing me, ultimately I ended up back in the room with the oil leak, crawled through the small opening and set the BD on fire, after doing that enough no more BD!

So its at this point I realize you have to use the environment to beat these guys cause you're way underpowered. At the same time though I feel like that was a weak way to beat a BD, I got no satisfaction from it.

Also I've noticed that around this point the Splicers just get crazy fast and accurate with their shooting and one hit with the wrench is no longer enough, its become useless as a melee weapon which sucks cause I'm trying to conserve ammo

I don't know who told you it was easy, but the difficulty, at least for me, plays out just right. It was more difficult for me at first because I am very conservative with ammo and the like, but I had to throw those tendencies away when playing this game. I literally went through half my health packs and half my evo packs, only to still die to a big daddy on my second playthrough. Maybe you read some weird reviews or something? I'm not sure, this game doesn't really hold your hand and it is easy to die a lot.

Remember to loot everything, and use your plasmids. Shock em, then hit em with a wrench or shoot them with a pistol. Remember to hack things so they can do some shooting for you, and things will cost less when you hack machines.

You get some nice bioweapons further in which give you more creative ways to beat the splicers, the wrenches damage gets enhanced by the tonics you pick up as well. There are a few ways to beat the BDs but certain types of ammo are really effective.

I think Electric and Armor-Piercing attacks/rounds would be the most effective. Towards the endish of the game, you get a chemical thrower, and once you put electric gel in that thing, Big Daddies just stand there, shocking to their death.

Everything I hack usually gets destroyed right after I get done hacking it. xD I LOVE the wrench upgrade tonic but I had to replace it with a health kit bonus at Neptune's Bounty. ;-;
