Bioshock Crashing

All of a sudden Bioshock is having a problem. The game locks up and I get a black screen, no mouse or hurky jerky movement. It really hoses my system. I had to restart from ConAltDel once. When I come back all my binding have been set to default. Any suggestion as to what to do?? Is this a Steam problem?

Now it's crashing wverytime I try to change the graphics from the option menu! When the game crashes everything I changed, key binding and graphics. When I restart the game and try to change the graphics ... 1900x1200 ... or less but great than default the game crashes!!! I have deleted the game abd will reload it ...
