Railroad Tycoon 2: Platinum

Railroad Tycoon 2: Platinum

How to make Screenshots of Railroad Tycoon 2 : Platinum
I found that the in-game screenshots do not work. Pressing F12 or pressing Print screen did not " store " any screenshots anywhere on the hard drive.

To fix this i did the following. While playing in-game i would hit the Print Screen button once for the shot i wanted. Paused the game and Shift-Tab out. Started Windows Paint. Inside windows Paint in the upper left there is an icon of a clip board, you click " paste". This will transfer your picture to Paint. Next label and save your picture as a .JPG into a folder you have identified and can find on your hard drive.Repeat for all of your pics until your finished.

Next, go to that folder and copy all of the pictures. The destination folder for these pics will be:

C:\program files(x86)\Steam\Userdata\33286192\760\Remote\7620\here you will need to add a new folder called (Screenshots)\here add a new folder called (Thumbnails) and paste them here. i put mine into the thumnails and into the folder called screenshots.

Click screenshots on your Steam icon in your taskbar and upload your pics from Railroad Tycoon:Platinum and choose to share with the public.

Hope this is helpful to others. I have posted 4 pics and they seem to be the only ones here. I would like to see others from all of you too.

Possum.

Thanks for the tips. I think I knew how to use Print Screen, even if I just use FRAPS instead, and I had a hunch I could put pictures in a folder, but you've shown me the way.

There are a couple things I should mention, though. Not everyone has (x86) in their Program Files directory. That, and everyone's user id will be different. For anyone reading this, finding out your Steam id and choosing the right folder (or the only folder there if you only log into one account on the computer you're using) is the thing to do. You'll also have to create a 7620 folder if you don't have one (it's the program's id), like I had to.

I think I will upload a few. You should make this a Guide.

EDIT: I forgot my image files were BMPs instead of JPGs. Took me an hour to realize why they weren't showing up :|

Nice! I recall doing this with a friend in TF2. We would "sneak" an edited TF2 screenshot into the "screenshot" folder and upload it to Steam, but was totally stumped with a game lacking an overlay to even take screenshots to begin with.

I just bought the Plat edition on Steam last week. Ah, it's been 12 years since I've played this game. I shall definitely put up screenies from my end. Stay tuned!
