Does this work with Windows 8.1 64 bit?
My computer has a Nvidia 560 Ti. Thanks.

In case you didn't find your answer (I went on that question Swamp Gas said and I didn't see much for good answers) so yes, Windows 8 64 bit works well. Esp. with good graphics card.

Are your drivers up to date?
If yes, and your computer is fully up to date (and Steam), then you can run compatability for Windows. Try troubleshooting Railroad Tycoon || and selecting thst it used to run on Windows 7.
For more detailed information please message me.

everything is up to date and no compatability mode works as it can not find steam. It will only run when there is no compatability mode selected, and then it just crashes.

Do these steps to run compatability mode (Not for Steam but for the game specifically)
1. Go into file manager
2. Your operating system [Should be read as OS (C:)] and if you don't see it then the image for it should be the Windows 8 symbol with a hard drive beside/under it.
3. It will either be: Program Files (86x)
or:
Program Files (64x)
If I am correct.
4. Scroll down to S and find Steam.
5. Open up your Steam Apps.
6. Open common.
7. Find Railroad Tycoon 2 Platinum and open the file.
***Now you've succesfully located and opened the files of Railroad Tycoon 2 Platinum.***
Right click on RT2_PLAT and click 'Troubleshoot compatability'
Follow the steps and when you reach the 'When did it last work' or something like that, click the Windows 7.
It should work, and if it doesn't, then ask and I have one more thing you may want to try.

no good. same issue with:

"Failed to find steam"
Grafando Oct 13, 2014 @ 6:04pm
You may want to downgrade to Windows 7...
You may want to back up your files and everything first.
And for most people, they WANT Windows 7.
I'm sorry, but this is all I can do...
Good luck, I hope I helped and you find a fix for this!
If you find the answer please tell me, I like to know all fixes lol

Grafando Oct 13, 2014 @ 6:21pm
I just figured out that I am actually having the same problem. If you give me a few minutes I still have free premium PC support! lol
Grafando Oct 13, 2014 @ 6:21pm
Actually, I don't have time tonight. But I can do that tommorrow. Is that fine?

Are you running the ( testapp ) or the actual executable file ( RT2_PLAT ) ?
Grafando Oct 14, 2014 @ 12:24pm
Both have the same error message and @endoric I'll contact them. They fixed my last problem (I couldn't even open Steam!)
