Then you need to add Majesty HD to Gameranger.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Majesty HD, and just rename MajestyHD to just Majesty.

Anyways, it would be nice if steam would release some kind of multiplayer server for the game, but being that it's quite old now not sure if it would work out that way. In my experience Hamachi is the simplest way to play over the net, but the only issue is that you'll need to know your opponent's Hamachi IP and join their group - but it should work out fine over the internet.
