Random example, a rat in majesty 2 attacks your palace, your heroes completely ignore it until you slap on a 500 gold bounty. The ♥♥♥♥?
Speaking of difficulty, I was also dissapointed with the overly wide scope of DLC available for Majesty 2, like upgrades beyond level 3 in blacksmithy facilities or additional temple spells. I couldn't help but feel that the game was largely built around buying all that additional stuff and that made me sad, but I guess that would be a category of its own.
I played Majesty 2 first and loved it, then I tried Majesty 1 and didn’t like it, didn’t like that much game play and graphics looked so dated.
In the second game, it's the opposite. You spend most of your money micromanaging your heroes.
I admit there is alot of upgrades you need to buy in Majesty 2, like skill moves (similair to library in majesty, but for each class), random potions and far too many blacksmith options. It takes much longer to get your heroes maxed with gear and enchantments in Majesty 2 than it does in Majesty. Oh and the characters act exactly the same as they do in the first game, I have no idea where people are getting that from. If saying "My service ends!" or "A foul beast approaches' is considered a personality by people, then I'm completely baffled lol.
All in all if you can get it on sale for a good price I'd reccomend it, it's alot of fun and in kingmaker I think it is you can even make your own scnearios!
I liked the 2nd one. It made a lot of improvements, but they made bad steps in some good things with majesty 1.
Majesty 2 was real good, but the A.I. was gutted greatly... no denying that.
The A.I. script was nothing but:
1. Wonder around in a very SMALL circle. (if rogue, loot graves you walk by).
2. If you encounter an enemy, attack for flee. If flee, run home or inn and go back to 1.
3. After you wonder around for a small time, check to see if there is any reward flags
4. After you check to see if there was any flags (or have done them), go shop.
5. Go home/inn
6. Come out home and go back to 1.
That's pretty much what Majesty 2 A.I. was
