CS:GO PC Controller Problem
I know its weird to play CS:GO on PC with a Xbox 360 Controller but anyway.

In the menu screen the controller works fine but once I am in game, I cant move or aim.

Don't know what has changed but I was previously able to play with a controller but can't now.

Any ideas on how to fix this problems ?

Why would you want to play with a controller in the first place.

Why not?

You're only putting yourself at a massive disadvantage by using an inferior input method, it doesn't make much sense unless you don't care and are playing in your livingroom or something on a TV.

I wouldn't say that is true.
I've been able to keep and average of Top 3 position with a controller before it stopped working.
Even when compared to friends I usually play against I fair equally as well.

But the question here isn't why I should / shouldn't use a controller, it's if anyone has any good ideas as to why the controller's stick controls sometimes do not work.

funny how no one tried to answer your question but instead went all keyboard/mouse fanboy on you. im still looking into if i want the game but could it be problem the console had when the controls reset once in game so you cant actually move because they are not assigned?

I don't think so, I've played around 100+ games with controller but it feels like after the patch it just doesn't work anymore.

try re plugging in the controller and restarting the game. if that doesnt work look for acommand to activate the controller with the console. If that doesnt work its abug. I have a 360 controller wired and it works fine. I use mouse and keyboard but its easy to play with a controller and still score some decent kills.

Mine is a wireless gamepad, maybe the answer to the bug
I will try to activate the gamepad by the console,

I primarily use my keyboard and mouse for web browsing and photoshop work. For gaming, well the year is 2012 and controllers are bit different than they used to be in 8bit Nintendo era!! And this game has one of the best controller supports I have ever met, including console games!!

I am having the same problem, however i never used to use the controller to play. But i do prefer it to mouse and keyboard now, (if it worked). Please help also

Has this been fixed? I had issues with the analog sticks on a wired 360 controller not working in-game while playing over the free weekend. I don't want to purchase the game unless they fixed the problem.

As for the "why would someone want to use a gamepad," some of us don't really have a choice. My wrists and arms are frakked up enough as it is from 15 years of near-daily computer use, and gaming with a keyboard/mouse at this point is both more difficult and results in even more chronic pain. Using the 360 controller, however, is pain-free and I do at least as well with a modern controller as with keyboard/mouse, if not better.

At this moment, I'm not sure if it's been fixed but my controller does work sometimes.

Problem still persists. The two analogue sticks stop working when joining a non-bot match
