Crates a big scam ?
Srsly i wont be opening anymore cases untill something is done about the 95% chance of getting doomkitty or skulls. Why cant the game see that i already have 10 skulls and 10 doomkitties ??

I am not asking for rares to be drops left and right but the current cases are just awfull.

Well, that's unfortunately how these sort of things work... I guess they don't want to devalue the rarity on the stuff in the crates, but it is really annoying to have such a seemingly small chance to get goodies when I'm dropping real cash on it.

I've made over 35 dollars, though most of which was from selling skins day 1 and 2. It's a gamble, and it's a fun gamble. I hated it at first, I thought it devalued the game, but it's sort of a fun side-game; I enjoyed installing custom skins in CSS anyway. You just had some bad luck.

Yeah they have to eventually do something, Nip Tweeday had 50 crates and only got 3 rares, everything else was either a mp7, doomkitty, aug wings ect

If he had actually purchased all the crates and keys he would have lost a lot of money :(

I think that ill just wait till valve put some kind of tf2 ish system wher you can buy skins form ther store instead.

ok.but they should add more common skins in those crates.it's just doomkitty, ultraviolet, wings, skulls and memento.add more common skins and it will be ok

SO far I got tiwce the same Mac 10 skin and Twice the same mag-7 skin. With the amount of guns I find it a bit lame

Its only a scam if you are promised something rare, we all know what to expect when we buy the keys.
cripple Sep 2, 2013 @ 6:36am
I've gotten 6 mag mementos, 4 or 5 m4 faded zebras. that's a little bit ridiculous. considering 3 mags were consecutively. and one famas doomkitty. haven't gotten anything else from esports case. absolutely stupid.

from the standard case (which i've opened less of) I got two stattrak sg553 ultraviolets, two mp7 skulls, and two aug wings.

i think people should just be happy with the cases and drops they get as they come.. and stop buying boxes and trying to get as many boxes as you can.. theres a reason you can only get 4 a week.. i think if your getting more the chances of rares are obviously fixed... it doesnt want you to be able to just get like 100 boxes and all of them to be super awsome items.. get this... i know and seen people that have opened 100+ cases.. iv opened a total of 7 , on my 6th i got a knife skin. and on my 5th i got a stattrak mp7 and then a random drop i got from a game was a scar- splash jam , soo there you have it .. i got only about 3 decent rare items. and only opend a total of 7 cases. and the rest of my drops have been all diffrent iv never gotten 2 of the same skin .. soo idk but if you try to cheat the system it seems you end up getting cheated ... thats all iv came to from what iv seen... but hey .. who can keep giving steam your money for keys and keep getting doomkittys and mp7s .. they are happy to take your money :)

A common item is what it is, Common, meaning that it has the highest chance of appearing, hence why it is common, hence why there is so many common items, hence why they are so cheap, you gamblers make me laugh, you open crates and then ♥♥♥♥♥ about not getting an item you want, well guess what son, world doesn't roll like that.

inb4 people doubting my crate-opening skill, I opened multiple crates, most of them were ♥♥♥♥(faded zebra, doomkitty) but I ain't complaining because I was aware that by opening a crate, I had a rather big chance of getting a common item.

.....there's a thing called luck, shoofie. just because you're lucky doesn't mean everyone else is. it has nothing to do with buying more crates = lower chance of getting a rare item.

every single crate you open, you have exactly the same chance of getting any item (whatever those predetermined chances may be.) if there's a 1% chance of getting a knife (and it's much much less than 1% from what i've seen) then every single crate you open will have a 1% chance.

bear in mind i'm only using that chance as an example, as i don't know the actual chances and those have not been calculated yet, if you open 100 crates at 1% chance each you'll most likely end up getting a knife in one of them.

buying extra crates and opening them is simply increasing your chances of getting a valuable weapon, if you buy/open 50 crates and get 1 knife worth 200+ then you just made money. it's a gamble, pure and simple.

what OP is complaining about is the fact that there's so many dupes, such ridiculously high rates of getting certain guns and there's nothing to do with those dupes. not only is there not a good spread of chances between useless weapons, there's nothing to do with those either.

therefore it is currently broken.

EDIT: as far as gambling goes it's actually pretty safe as well. anyone who goes to a casino would LOVE the opportunity to be breaking even most of the time. because economy in these games usually revolves around breaking even, where only a select few actually make a profit. try going to a casino and watching the slots, the chance of breaking even is slim to none.

The stuff is random, the drops are random (& fixed to maintain the economy). Nothing more to add than that regarding what you get out of the crates.

What I dislike is how many damned repeats you get. It just sucks the life out of you if you paid good money for the key, and the final frames where your roll lands is 4 times the same common weapon, or when you open a series, you get 4-7 repeats.

My only real gripe with the current crates is that there are too few common items. People start hating the Doomkitty, skulls, wings, zebra, etc. While they are prefectly good skins mind you.

On a personal valuation, I like those 4 skins better for example than the Case Hardenend AK. (looks awefull, just like "fade") Sell one crate, buy them all of the market.

I just don't want to get into buying some keys with money I could put towards games, knowing 95% of what you get back is a skin that you can only sell for about 2-4 cents.

I sincerely hope they put 7-10 common skins in the next "permanent" crate. It will not frustrate the occasional case openers as much, might keep the value of these skins up a little as well.

Also, I feel that Valve might have trown in a free set of 2-3 keys for the fact that you bought this title.

Completely agree, I was thinking of mentioning that but I see you already pointed it out, such a shame that CS:GO is flooded with spoiled brats thinking that Crates are the express way to get rare items.
