microphone does not work ingame

When playing a match or whatever, people can not hear me.

- Mic is not broken and is connected like it should.
- I did a test in windows audio options and everyting is ok here.
- In steamsetting i can setup the voice and also performed a test, result again OK.
- Other games like CSS and 1.6 have no problems.
- I removed my config and autoexec to use the default config of the game but this did not help.
- 1 thing i did notice is that i can not enter the "mic setup" option in CSGO, so i can not perform a mic test in game. I have no idea why this is and how to enable it.

Any ideas?

try Test micphone, maybe you has bad Configurated it, go options of steam and CS:GO

That is the thing, in steam i can test my microphone and there it works perfect. But i can not ingame since i can not enter the mic setup menu, i click the button but i get no further screen or what ever.

some servers may have the mic disabled.

I had this in matchmaking server where i could hear others so i think this is not the problem

Same here mic. works fine for all other applications and also in competitive lobby but not once the match starts.

I have a similar problem. Microphone is working when you click "K." But with "voice activation" is not working. What to do?

i had this issue after the second most update, the final resolve for me was to delete the game, then find the csgo folder and delete that too, ( backup any customization like autoexec.cfg if you have one ) then delete the whole csgo folder, then reinstall via steam. that fixed it for me. and i littlerly tried everything i could think of to fix it, and nothing but that worked.

long story short its a directX issue from the game grabbing your mic when the game and steam uses the same codec, if you open console and type voice_enable 1 you would get an error.
