Failed to start game (app already running).

Got a little problem after reinstalling steam and csgo, whenever I try to start csgo my screen turn black for a second or two and after that i'm sent back to windows with the error message: Failed to start game (app already running). I've looked at ALL the processes in task manager and csgo.exe is not running.

So if anyone of you have any suggestions on how I cansolve my problem or the solution to it it would be AWESOME!

It won't let me play either and having the same issue. I was guessing if it was becuase of a too fast loading time and a sudden refresh on my gaming state(currently playing or not). Haven't been able to play at all today... Really dissapointed considering how much time this game has been out =P

its the motd apparently. im not sure how to do it but people are saying to disable the motd in the console

I'm having exactly the same problem. I double click CS:GO it says preparing to launch blah blah, then it instantly comes up with a black screen like it's trying to load and then it just closes and I'm back to the desktop. Can someone please help with this??

I have a similar problem but it happens after i join a match...I really dont get how everytime they come out with an update something breaks

It's not a fix to all problems -.- Only if it crashes right after you join the map and the motd is the reason!

Yeah me too not a big problem since im in the game again 10 sec after again, but still alittle annnoying, also just heppend here after the update

Playing on the PS3 now which seems to be dead lol can they fix this already ... I had it happen twice or something like that before the update but now it's impossible to join a game.
