Valve FAILS at updates
My game constantly spikes to 200 ping from 30 ping almost every 10-30 seconds and lasts about a good 5 seconds. I have run multiple malware and virus scans and came up with nothing. I have checked my internet and run speed tests which gives me around 45 mbps. I have upgraded a new graphics card from a geforce gtx 560 ti to a geforce 960. It seems like every time valve comes out with an update for CSGO some users experience terrible lag from their servers but doesn't affect others. Noticed many people are experiencing this but not everyone but still no fix for it after 2 days. Stop updating valve if you just end up breaking something else. If it aint broke dont fix it.

Doing a speedtest won't tell you why you got random high ping every few sec/min. This is also the first time I see someone complain about this in these forums in the past few days and I'm a pretty active poster lately. So I would not call it that common yet.

I think its on your side, not valve's. Ping got something to do with your connection, if you are the only one using your connection check what you got running on your PC (Spotify?). If you are sharing your connection ask other users of the internet what they are doing. Though a contanst lag every xx min/sec sounds pretty weird and not like anyone could be able the cause that.

I don't run anything in the background. I have no one else using internet since I live alone. I have run a speedtest while in game and the speed was fine but since you are saying that don't matter I guess I'll have to call my ISP and see whats up. I just find it so weird that after updates my game usually goes bad. The people I ran into today had constant lag issues much like myself but I have searched for posts and haven't seen much on here except others complaining about lag spikes and some are really old posts. Regardless thank you for the quick reply.
verified integrity of game cache ?
deleted local content and reinstalled ?

The speed test wont work because it is just recording the speed for a couple sec, ping is even tested in shorter then 1 sec.

Maybe try playing some other online games or try to download some big files to make narrow down your problem. If you encounter lots of lag there too, its definitely your connection. If not, we have to keep looking.

Yeah I tried L4D2 earlier and it ran fine as well as Dota2. And Hans those were the first 2 things I did when I tried to figure out what was going on.

Hmm then it seems like a problem on valve his side, would not expect that to only happen to certain users. Trying to re-install did not work either?

Weird, weird.. I'm getting out of options here.

Yeah thanks for trying to help man much appreciated. I am filing a ticket to valve to see what they suggest I do.

I think thats the right thing to do for now, maybe someone shows up here with a solution. If not, let me know once they reply because I'm curious now. Might take couple days-week before they reply though.

Will do bud. Yeah, I can live without CSGO for a week or so.

Someone just told me it might be servers close to you having issues. That might also be the reason some of your friends were having issues. If they live close that is.

High posibility it could be the servers. If it is, then I guess this is just a waiting game until the servers get fixed.
