Why so much Dust II?

I've only been playing this game for a couple days and yesterday almost every game I played was on Dust II. I played there like 5 games in a row. Why is that? I was doing competative and had all the maps checkmarked. Is Dust II just super popular?

It's overplayed. I usually uncheck it unless I want to play it.

Dust II has always been the most popular, it's what most people know and are good at.

People know it, noobs and casuals want quick matches.
Just stay away from it.

One thing is for certain though, if you want a quick and pretty even match Dust 2 is where its at. But I've been board of Dust 2 for awhile now, but it is very balanced.

I agree Dust II does have great map design. It's not really symmetrical map, but it seems like any option is valid. No one path is too favorible to one team.

Dust 2 is terrible in every way beyond queue times.

Dust II is probably my second fav Train being my first it is the most classic map from the CS games so I guess people are just wanting to either play what they are good at or whatever

Because some of us have been playing Dust 2 for a decade. We got really good at it and when we play other maps we suck compared to how well we do on d2. Us elitist players desparately need to feel relevant so all we queue is dust2 and whine about inane details like the box at the back of b site. In all seriousness that box is friggin broken and needs to be reverted to its circa 1999 state.

This box has been fixed as from a 2014 update.

Simple, take it off your loadout list and play only Nuke. And try to top me without cheating or boosting with a buddy OR going on tank OR rushing A. lol, then we got ourselves a game.

Dust 2 is the most balanced map. But Inferno and Nuke are played often as well. Then you get Mirage and Train. Those are the important 5.

Train blows. Be like "Hey GF, I'm going to go run train, give me like up to 90minutes then Ill come over".
