cases are a rip off.
You guys need to start making the cases more worth while to open... I've spent about $50 and my accumulated worth of the items I'v purchased is around $10... I see people with stat trak knives factory new and sick awps and Ill I'm getting is garbage that anyone can get jus by playing a few rounds... I'm done buying keys for cases unti something improves. At least with the capsules I can sell the stickers for a dollar because I don't have to worry about anyone getting them on game drops and the value for them is secured at the price I payed for it. You need to do that with the cases as well. like make sure they are all factory new atleast! this is terrible. Very dissapointed.

Opening cases is like entering the lottery. Some people get lucky. OThers don't. You either do it or you don't. That's how items aren't all worth nothing like in DOTA.

I'm saying it shouldn't be like the lotery. I know what it's like... I've been ripped off enough to know its extremly rare to get anything worth while. I think I got one stat trak factory new pistol worth $4.00. that the best I gotten. I've spent over $50 on keys. Everything else I have I bought on market place. I'm hoping enought ppl speak up about this nonesense so they can institute a better system.

Something like having all the cases give a factory new item and the game drops be well worn or battle scarred. This would keep them at a higher price point but not necessarily a rare item.

You can still have 'excedingly rare' special item system to keep ppl playing the lottary. but u can also make it worth while for ppl losing a lot of money buying keys and getting nothing in return.

they aren't a rip off if you just hold onto a bunch and wait for value to increase before selling/trading, like i did with bravo cases :)

the cases maybe, but im talking about the items inside. and I did that too. I'm keeping series 1 cases for a while to see if they increase.

curious,

has anyone gotten a 'factory new' drop in-game? or are they only aquired thru cases?
Pariah Mar 25 @ 9:53am
It works like dis - key value + crate value + supply / demand = item price, break 1 of those and u get drop / increase at prices. Item qualities r designed to make ppl get versions they want the most and thus open more cases / pay more for it on market. If u dont want to play it, just buy decent stuff u want from market, for 50 bucks u could get a decent inventory, while u probably got blue trash in return.

again, I'm well aware of the supply/demand aspect of it. Stop trying to teach me. I'm saying I'm done buying cases. It's not worth the return. It's not even worth the gamble. it's so much $.03 garbage your right, I should jus buy the items i want on market place and ditch the case Idea all together. especially if factory new are available in game drops. I would only change my mind if the cases offered a guarentee of a better item then an in game drop. not necessarily a 'rare' but something a tier above. does this not make sense to anyone??

and yea factory new drops can be received by playing game as long its version exist. Personally got candy apple nova FN and blue spruce FN, but mostly i get other qualities, so it means they r pretty rare.

Dude it's simple, if you want something specific then just buy it off the market, if you want to make money then stock up on something thats going to increase in price, cases are simply gambling, just like a casino you're going to lose your money 90% of the time.

My third case I ever opened I got a knife, I've opened about 15 since then and got ♥♥♥♥ all :)

It's like gambling. Gambling is obviously a rip-off. The solution is simple: STOP OPENING CASES.
TheChaOtic Mar 25 @ 10:15am
Well when you would be able to get nice shiny stuff from almost every crate then everybody would have it and thus the price of that shiny stuff would go down. As someone said before - there would be oversupply of "good" items and not enough demand.

I don't think it'd ever be possible to make money back on opening cases. Wouldn't the prices of guns just go down if the price of keys went down? The price of all guns would drop, because if keys were down to $1 (or heaven forbid free) then people could open almost 3x as many cases for almost the same cost. There would still be items worth more than that like the Asiimov, but the price for that would also drop since more cases would be opened.

Now if you make it easier to get rarer items, then the rarer items wouldn't be rare and their price would drop. Pretty much any change to the current format would severely impact the market. I've spent about $50 on keys as well, the second gun I got was a FN golden Koi which i sold for $6. That also happens to be the best gun i've ever unboxed, If you check out http://goaggro.com/crateSimulator.php, you'll see that opening cases is a gamble. If it was anything but the market would be completely .03 skins instead of just most .03 skins.

i think that they shouldnt necessarily have a system of like how the knives are 0.1 % drop rate, they should be far more equal or at least make some of the more non-special items like for ex augs wings a lesser drop rate which would kind of equal-fy some of the prices to a median price

Tbh though ive opened about 50 cases in total. The average value of each item i uncrate is about £0.03. Now sicne this is basically gambling (it even plays like roulette) Surely its illegal to have such a bad return i think uk limit is 75%.

This is jsut daylight robbery.

who ever said anything about lowering price of keys? I would just like to see cases offer better items then in-game drops, simple. That way I can sell the case items for more than the in game drops and not make $.03 cents to my $2.50 just like I can do with the capsules. It's not rocket science ppl... as of know there is two classes of items, those that are worth $$ and those that aren't. i'm asking for a level between, like around the $1.50 - 1.00 range... crates should not offer $.03 garbage thats all i'm saying. if factory new items only came from casesthen ppl would pay more money for them, maybe not as much as the case is worth, supply and demand and all.. but more then pennies.
