Just in case someone else sees this ancient thread, you CANNOT go back or reset once you have built a wing or any addition. Uninstalling and reinstalling WILL bork your game. The ONLY solution is to go back to a save made before you built the wing or addition - if no earlier save is available, then you have to leave it as is, or start a new game - this is because the data is baked into the save and nothing can remove or change it.

You can turn it off within the launcher, but the only way to uninstall and reinstall is by doing Skyrim as a whole. Even then, your saves are still likely to be on your machine. I'm away from my main computer with Skyrim on it to check, but you'd likely have to delete whichever saves you have that were using the hearthfire expansion.

well ♥♥♥♥. i do not like where this is going.
your save files should get reset as you deactivate the expansion in your launcher, don't worry. although, i would check in some modder's forum to confirm this :)

oh and... On the planning board, you can select to revert back to the entryway only, undoing all the expansions you've put on the house.

nope.. thats where you are wrong Mark. Remodel back to entryway only makes the "Small house" into a entryway for the "big house".. by that i mean it removes the firepit and dubble bed and some furniture in the small house if you like fully upgraded it. but i got some guy from bethesta tech support to help me so im fine
Can you tell how to do; i'm also intressed
open your steam go to library right click on the game go to properties click on local files then click on verify integrity of game cache. works for all dlc on games for steam

I always thought you could remove a wing and rebuild it if you didn't like it. I was actually looking at doing this last night, but realized I didn't have a better idea fro a layout off hand, so kept it as is.

if you go to properties you can select dlc in the menu and uncheck it.
