cave to start dawnguard dose not appear

so i bought dawnguard and hearthfire, i get the guy telling me to go talk to the captain, the marker appears on my map, i go to where the marker says and nothing is there, i have tried several different things, turning off all mods, starting with a new character, and even deleting and reloading the game. no change, can anyone help me?

There seems to be a problem with the marker, following it is futile. The entrance to Dayspring Canyon is located southeast of Riften, just northwest of Stendarr's Beacon .
