Depends if you want achievements.

Not really.

I'd say it depends on your playing style, and what you want your character to be. For me, I envision the Dragonborne as someone who has taken on many roles, done many things. A sort of jack of all trades by his wandering. So, I became a vampire lord. I enjoy it. Is it for everyone? Probably not. My advice is, give some thought to what you really enjoy playing in Skyrim, then you'll know.

I've almost finished Dawnguard, I just got into the Darkfall Coves but no I wasnt really interested in the Vampire Lord.

Thought the vampire side was a bit more fun, but would only recommend it if you enjoy the Dark Brotherhood type stuff. Some of the Volkihar quests are very similar to DB quests.

I'd say it's worth it just to see the storyline & quests. But you're also talking to someone who kept reloading and marrying different people just to see who shows up for their wedding.

maybe save it for a second playtrough.

as i roleplay heavily in these games, it often doesnt fit my style to join for example both the companions and the thieves guild. So after half a year when i forgot a lot about the dungeons and stuff, i can buy the newest DLCs and play a differnt char that does all the storylines i didnt do before, enjying the complete game again without replaying too much content.

Well it's the only way to get the vampire lord form so of course.

I beat the Vampire Lord side and grew to like Seranna but hated any time spent as a vampire (may be just left over Twilight disgust.lol). Thankfully Dawnguard side has Seranna as well to make it all better

If you've already gone with the Dawnguard, then don't play through the whole thing. It might be worth doing it to become a vampire lord, but after that I think it's best to peel off and just do other stuff with your crazy powers. The actual campaign is almost identical, see, and doesn't have much in the way of replay value.

It is worth it IMO, it's a whole different set of quests. Not playing the vampire side and the dawnguard side would be like buying a cake and only eating half of it.

Well, since it was a metaphor, I guess you don't play entire games either. The cake is not a lie.

All I am saying is that that isn't healthy.
