Skyrim Keeps Minimizing.
Topic. I'll start up Skyrim off Steam and about 10-15 minutes in it will minimize forcing me to Alt-Tab twice to get it back up. Also my pointer appears on screen after it minimizes, which is rather annoying. Also, i have Windows 8.

I feel your annoyance, bro. Sometimes Skyrim just downright closes on me, and I have to start ALL the way from my previous save.

It hasn't closed all the way on me yet but i can see how that would be a major set back.

I was having this problem for awhile. I did research and found that what fixed it for me was, putting steam in offline mode. I have not had it do it since. To run steam in offline mode just click steam in the upper left corner of your app. Then go to "go offline" that's it hope this helps anyone who looks at this thread.

I would be looking at either 3rd party software initiating or a Window's process. I'd test on-line and off-line and look at both memory/GPU usage and CPU usage on cores 0 & 1 just to have a picture. Remember Skyrim is 32bit so it dangles from a memory cliff. So, I suggest trying the memory patch ENBoost by Boris Vorontsov

Most times its anti virus scan telling you its finish scanning and then gives report. Click on skyrim icon for black screen, then Ctrl Alt & Del and when task manager pops up just cancel it.
Move scan time or disable, your choice.

Or an MS service such as a cloud updating, 50 needless services handshaking, umpteen miles of garbage code eating itself (machine running for eons without a cold boot) and ....

O!! so true Mage, usually this happens to me, I mainly only have anti virus on, try to keep the rest to the bare essentials.
