try a lower antialiasing. there is not much difference between 8x and 4x
or try razer game booster to shut down some background programs

Ive tried both of those methods, and none of which worked at all. Ive closed all background proccesses and tried mutiple game graphics options aswell.

any other thoughts?
defrag pc
close antivirus
close steams windows
open taskmanager while playing and select tesv.exe and set its priority to high
I use an FPS Limiter for Skyrim, I have no clue if that might help you or not. You can get it from Nexus Mods[skyrim.nexusmods.com]. By default it will cap your FPS at 30 but you can set it to 60 (Or anything). Basically it forces your system to render only the specificed frames at one time, Even with V-Sync my understanding is that the game still renders frames ahead of time. Limiting the FPS should free up a slight bit of RAM, just like lowering some settings would.

Now of course you can always lower settings like AA, AF, Texture Quality, etc. and gain a big performance boost, but thats really something I'd do only if I had to.
Sorry for double post. If you try the FPS Limiter close FRAPS, those two don't play nicely (You'll CTD when Skyrim loads, if it loads) And you'll still get frame drops in places like Dragonreach in Whiterun and other highly populated areas like that. I get some drop Looking over Whiterun from Dragonreach and especially when I first enter Solitude.

Hi,

Ive tried fraps to limit fps but dosent work only lags game more ironically. However the skyrim fix would only fix one game, im looking for a majority fix that can work across all games if possible.
I wasn't sure if it would help or not, it doesn't work for a lot of people. Try what NightCore said, disabling hyoerthreading in your BIOS, I cant really think of anything else that could be causing it, unless it has something to do with your RAM on the physical side (Which I doubt), like if its dual channel you're using the primary slots and such things, but again I doubt thats the issue.

I will try it as soon as i can after a bit of research so i dont screw it up or something else in the bios.

anything else to consider?

overclocking can cause trouble... but if disabling hyperthreading doesnt work, give it a try...
