border when I play skyrim
I have Windows 8 Professional and an Hp laptop which performs quite well and whenever I try to play Skyrim in a non-windowed mode there is a blue border instead of it completely filling up my laptop screen. I have the option disable scaling unchecked in the options menu and I have already re-installed the game twice and I do not know what else to do. I have also tried running the game in compatiability mode to no avail. Just like another poster said it really does ruin the immersion when it does not completely fill up the screen. If someone can help please I'd really appreciate it.

I don't use any mods. I don't even know how to use mods on steam games. If I knew how to take a screenshot of what its doing I'd show you or even a video I'd show you to prove what is happening.

Does it have an Intel HD 4000 GPU? I had that issue on my Surface Pro and It was from a Windows update. I had to install an older driver for the GPU. It was this one specifically that fixed the issue:

I had to do the compatibility mode thing, but instead of doing it like normal there is a "Change for all users" or something like that, button and it went away for me. I had to do this on my HP Envy laptop w/ AMD integrated graphics, don't know if that really matters or not....

But I have the newest one from their website as well. I'll try your idea and post back if there's a difference.
