DLC
Hi, I've just bought the legendary edition and I've noticed that when i start the game if I go to datafiles on the first splash screen - the 3 DLC are unticked by default. Am I spoiling anything by ticking these and starting my playthrough with them on, or should I leave them off for now?

Thanks in advance for any replies :)

all dlcs go well with the storyline.
Skyrim is a FREE game. You are not forced to do any dlc quest.
Just keep in mind, that the dlcs start around lvl 10 and a specific part in the story.
Sp just level up and play the main quest, then decide if you care for the dlc quests.

Tick them by default, always.

The DLCs are good. Dawnguard starts at Level 10. Dragonborn at 15. I think Hearthfire is there from the start, all you need is lots of gold.

Also have a look at the unofficial patches for them all. They fix many bugs and errors.

No it doesn't, it is not a part of the main quest or any other quest in the base game.

lol, get your facts right. when does dragonborn start?
cultists question you after talked to the geybeards and received their first quest...
and i found out that you can visit solstheim at any given time.
and i never said, that db is part of any main quest...

dragonborn starts when you visit the greybeards-learn the second word of unrelenting force, plus the first word of whirlwind sprint and get the quest to get the horn of jorgen windcaller

You are most mistaken. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Dragonborn:Dragonborn_(quest)

You need to finish The Way of the Voice before being able to go to Solstheim. There are good reasons for this.

(Edit: For some reason Steam refuses to connect the link. You can copypaste it and it works then.)

You can start Dawnguard before level 10. You hear hold guards talking about Fort Dawnguard and this updates your map with a new marker, and you can head there to join up.

Some Hearthfire Manors require a high level, because you need to be Thane and certain favor quests require a certain level.

You can start any of the DLC once the first quest is available. Guards will talk about the Dawn gaurd and usually after you go to High Hrothgar, the Dragonborn cult will appear.

As for Hearthfire, the 1st house you can get, after a small quest, is in Falkreath. The other two you can get by buying them, but you have tro complete certain quests. (One quest has a lvl 22 prereq)

Yes it does, I'm level 38, and no quest has started with me, simply because I haven't visited the Greybeards yet. It all depends on when you do that, it has nothing to do with level.

Yeah you don't go that way. In the Skyrim world that path would lead to Morrowwind.

You have to go through a cave to get there, if you look on your map you should be able to see a place nearby.

Regarding DLC for Skyrim. Umm, I got the ES Anthology pack, Im just installing Skyrim, but I see no sign of the included free DLC of Heartfire, Dawnguard and Dragonborn. Do they show up somehow when I start the game or?

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\Data

Do you see the file names in there for DLC? Dawnguard - Hearthfire - Dragonborn.
