You're talking complete nonesense. Go look. there are plenty of mods. Shut up and if you aren't satisfied, go make your own and then come back here and try to slag off people's efforts to share creativity with the community. It isn't your private showcase that needs to 'improve' to better cater for your needs....like as if you have the right to demand it...go away you annoying idiot.
You DO NOT understand the effort that goes into the learning AND the tutoring of others. Just people using up their spare time to help others to just be creative and try new things in the community. If you did understand, you would not be so bloody ungrateful and arrogant as you have demonstrated here.
Please don't think I hate you or anything, but you really ticked me off.
(and a load of other people)
Why not learn how to mod so you can contribute. It isn't easy.
Sounds to me that you prefer originality that "fits" (so do I for that matter).
Seems to me that you have ideas in your head just aching to get out and nobody has remotely made anything you're wanting to see.
I challenge you, learn how and do it. Show us what you've got. Impress us.
All I'm going to say is: You're supposed to be able to. That places the responsibility of the mod makers to make it easy to load and play. But, unfortunately, that's not always the case and they can cause problems that you don't want to try fixing.
The mods themselves though, should be whatever the hell people want to make. If you're not happy, do something yourself. Make your own mod that you want. This isn't an ordering service...the modders are the priority, NOT the downloaders.
It is a creative SHARING community system, not a order picking system that should have stuff you want. Valkar was more polite than me in his comments.
I never said there were barely any mods or only terrible mods out there. Why would I be slagging off people's creativity by making my own mod? I never said anything was my private showcase. Nothing you said made sense to begin with.
I don't mod, but I like writing 1337skript in my spare time.
Most of you are likely illierate. I never said I didn't like any other mods, and I even pointed out some that were pretty great.
Oh, but I do. Much better than you, anyway.
I said nothing to insult anyone. I just said they have untapped potential. You are ALL extremely sensitive dimwits, I see now.
I thought maybe that this could be an idea thread, or something. But the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ got here first.
But to be honest, out of all the mods available, I personally only find about 10% of them are worthwhile.
Not that the other 90% are crap.... Not at all, but very few suit my tastes.... Which I'm sure is the same for many in here.
A lot of work goes into getting something to work decently as a mod, but the more mods the merrier. Everybody has different interests and tastes which will no doubt not line up with my own.... The more variety, the more there is to suit people's specific tastes, the more the game will be enjoyed for longer by more players.
If people like downloading and using a re-textured model despite that being one of the more basic starting points of modding.... so be it. Different strokes for different folks.
But for me... some of those mods out there are wasted space..... but that's just my opinion. I could spend hours designing up something for a business here in the sign industry and put all my blood sweat and tears into the project.... and the client can still think it's crap and not like it. The amount of time and effort put into something does not equate to a good end product.... and that's just cold reality, regardless if you're getting paid for those hours you spent, or you're using up your own personal free time. There's always a cost involved with no assurance of any gain in the end.
" ... I don't mod, but I like writing 1337skript in my spare time..."
"... Most of you are likely illierate. ... ".
You said nothing offensive? I beg to differ.
Your own words: "illiterate" ... "dimwits" ...
Your words are sarcastic, condecending and insulting.
I doubt you're a paid professional critic with any kind of credentials.
You're obviously expressing your displeasure by starting off with, "I'm really growing tired..." rhetoric, but apparently unaware of the hornets nest you just stirred up. You have the audacity to call them illiterate, dimwits ... "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" .
You sound like a kid with no real discipline and try to come across as superior to others.
Time to shut your mouth and put your own skills to the test buddy.
Stop trying to show others what kind of an ass you are. Be inteligent and smart for a change.
I hope to God you never breed, I'd feel pitty for your children.
Just to play devil's advocate here for a moment, but his OP was expressing an opinion which was not directed towards any specific person and was expressing how it can be a bit bothersome to sift through wads of minor mods to find mods that interest him specifically.
He acknowledged some of the better mods out there and the ones that took a lot of time to do.
He didn't insult anybody nor attempted to start any sort of flame war. The following posts directed at him was what started this whole mess and was of a lynch mob mentality, attacking him for expressing a common issue that I know a few players experience (But seems to be taboo to openly say)
So his reaction seems pretty reasonable considering.
He was told to shut up.... his post was misinterpreted as though he specifically said "There were no good mods for Skyrim" as noted by the first response to his OP.
Then there are assumptions made by others about his knowledge or experience in Modding, which was used as yet another unjustified snipe at him for expressing his opinion.
And then you seem to continue the one-sided attack on him for responding to the level of venom directed at him by pointing out things he did wrong, while seemingly ignoring what was tossed at him, as if those people are more justified.
When he said he didn't say anything offensive, he was referring to his original post.... calling out what he said in response to the insults and attacks already thrown at him after the fact doesn't make any sense, nor justifies the reactions tossed at him in the first place.
Takes two to tango here.
You said:
"Your words are sarcastic, condecending and insulting."
Well look at what he's been given.... he started off perfectly fine and I personally saw nothing sarcastic, condescending or insulting in his OP.
Yeah.... obviously he was expressing his displeasure.... and he's allowed to do that like everybody else in here. Yet somehow he was in the wrong none the less?
Really?
They add a hell of a lot more value to the game than yet another skimpy armor for unrealistic glamdolls.
Agreed.... can't stand that pin up crap.
Ah... but see there we are.... you and I have expressed our personal distaste for pin up glamdoll mods and he expressed distaste for simple retextured models. So why are we right in what we just did, but he is not?
I'm sure those glam doll crap things took a lot of time to do and perfect, so by the reasoning of some in this discussion, we should praise their work and download their mods to show our support, rather than express our own personal opinions like the OP did.
