Elder Scrolls may End here.
With lots of competition from multiple open-world games, such as GTAV and Watchdogs, the Elder Scrolls may not have much more to offer in the future. Unless they go multiplayer, of course. But the single player campaign may have trouble standing up to richer scripted stories of GTA, watchdog and Saints Row, while also having the freedom and depth of an open world.

Well, we've got Elder Scrolls Online coming up which does look pretty awesome and you never know, Bethesda might be working on the first multiplayer Elder Scroll game. Nothing big like Elder Scrolls Online but like 4 player multiplayer. I would imagine that would work but you'd need to have separate worlds for single and multi player. And even if it isn't multiplayer, it'll still be awesome like every Elder Scroll game. Trust me , they will never be gone completely.

They are already starting work on TES 6 due to be released in 2016-17 so they are still at it

I'll wait for TESO to go free to play before jumping in. Not too keen on it being an MMO, but I'm not surprised at all either.

US Buisness is very smart most of the time. Skyrim made Bethasda so much money that there will be another. If one of them fails to generate money then it would be probably the end for a while at least.

Elder Scrolls Online will kill any mystery regarding "The whole world", and no matter what region you could want to play in the response will be "Play ESO".

I don't think there will be another Elder Scrolls game in the fashion of an open-world rpg sandbox type of thing. I believe any future Elder Scrolls game will be dumbed down into a 12 hour long, linear main quest on a map with limited interactions.

EA declared "It is a waste to make a game with more than 30 hours of gameplay, because of cost/profit expectations on X dollars of Money for Y hours of entertainment." essentially, they want to sell each book as a one chapter book from now on.

Skyrim was the last game of its kind, and I am glad I was around to see it.

"Single-player games aren't going anywhere. Bethesda Softworks has been making single-player games for all of our 25+ years in the industry. We're still here, we're still making them, and people are still buying them. Dishonored was single-player and people really loved it, and it sold well. Skyrim was a complete success. A single-player RPG. There's practically a cottage industry dedicated to talking about how that isn't possible or why that won't succeed. Console fans won't get a game like that. Has to have multiplayer of some kind. PC gaming is dead. It's gotta be a shooter. RPGs are a niche. Etc.

"People like fun games. They have games they like to play by themselves, they have games they like to play with others. Every game doesn't have to be all things to all people." - Pete Hines

Who cares what EA says? EA isn't making the next game! Bethesda still manages to put the right ingredients together in the right mix. Nothing else I've seen comes close.

Lady Gaga's album probably costed as much as Lydia's voice acting to make, so they easily amplified their profit. GTA V, for example, costed more than any movie ever made*.

If ♥♥♥♥ like GTA5 and Watch Dogs effect Elder Scrolls, that will be the day I quit gaming. No seriously, even skyrim wich is my least fav out of the franchise is STILL way better then ♥♥♥♥♥♥ GTA and Watch Dogs.
