I never realized they've changed the appearance between the Oblivion and Skyrim games, but now that you mention it they do look pretty different.
Really, the great variety of Khajiit types would make Elsweyr perhaps the most interesting locale for a The Elder Scrolls VI. IMHO, anyways.
As for me, I love the way they've made the cat people, I don't know, actually look like cats. It just makes them unique and special, and a lot more interesting than the bland old humans and elves. Personally, the only races that seem worthwhile to play as for me are the Argonians, Orcs, and Khajiit, only because they're things you can't play as in pretty much every other RPG. Yes, I know, OrsiMER are elves too, but because of their deformed appearance and portrayal as "orcs" it kind of puts a rift between them and the other, bland, mer races.
The Ma'iq in Oblivion is likely not the same Ma'iq in Skyrim as Skyrim takes place a couple of centuries later.
Maybe its like Klingons - genetic experimentation gone awry that they don't like to talk about.

And they dislike you back... greatly. Cause cats are cool like that.
That's what I mean. They're cool like that. Someone says "I hate cats", and cats say "We hate you back". Say the same thing about a dog and the dumb mutt will think you're the greatest thing in the universe.
I couldn't care less of what they think, or what do you think they think.
Well, M'aiq does say that he was named after his father, who was named after his father, who was named after his father, and so on.
