Exactly how broken is my game?

Seriously, this is a mess, a HUGE HUGE MESS. Either that or I'm just being woefully stupid. Forgive me, I just came back from a holiday and I'm mildly sleep-deprived. Unless my cat downloaded a virus while I was away something HORRIBLE happened to SKSE some time in the past couple of weeks. Any help would be greatly appreciated, so tto keep it nice and short(ish) BASICALLY I click on SKSE and the black box comes up and then just kinda...stays there? I can launch the game through steam but obviously SKSE doesn't load so the game has a seizure and explodes very shortly. STILL I have a sliver of hope that this is fixable, and that my game does not have rabies and that my saves are salvagable. Otherwise I am ready to uninstall EVERYTHING and perform an exorcism on my computer. On a serious note is this at all possible to deal with? I have tried running as administrator, reinstalling SKSE etc. etc. so the aforementioned solution currently seems like a wise choice. Again, ANY HELP WHTATSOEVER would be WONDERFUL. Thanks in advance.

I would just reinstall everythig,perform an exorcism...... I wonder how Gopher adds mods,removes it,modifies things,and turn out alright....he must be very careful...

I know :( the guy got scenic carriages working all right for a while and that's saying something. I'm not nearly patient enough to check everything in every .txt file 40,000 times like he does. shame.

Update: It works IF i let the black box just sit therefor a while....WTF SKYRIM? still it's annoying but atleast it's relatively stable for now.

SKSE version now is 1.6.16 rel 44 and will load directly and update all data in skyrim folder

Yesh..Just to build on what Kelvy says here, pop on over to silverlock.org to find the wonderful installer download (NEW) for 1.6 SKSE. let it overwrite your old version and heyyyyyyyyy [thumbs]

Well now that's fixed I have a TOTALLY NEW and positively, absolutely MORE HORRIBLE affliction. I can't open a menu or I get a CTD, I traced it to SkyUI, disabled it. And it didn't work. I think I want to eat my own face off.

Oh and half of my saves are corrupted and unloadable as aresult of this issue.

Stupid mods. I had mods that screwed up my saves a long time ago, since I only use some of Steam. It`s annoying, check your files & delete everything, than reinstall the standard Skyrim from Steam.
