+ until they work no more and you have to reinstall everything

nexus and workshop DON'T work together well, stick to one or the other.

Yup. Steam handles the Workshop fairly well, you shouldn't really have any probs..you tend not to if you are knowing already what mod is going on, because you have done some research on it first, where it is best being loaded, that you understand what the mod is doing on your system...and the golden rule, that you have read the description and understood the instructions given by the mod author. (If you don't understand anything, like I sometimes don't, you should do exactly what you have done, you smarty pants, and talk about it to your friends or the community).

If you wanna know more, there are lots of tutorials knocking around youtube.

Oh go on then, I'll mention it.. a few of us gathered together and set up the pinned thread, here on the Skyrim forum, containing lots of links to save you time :)

Nexus mod manager pretty much does what it says on the tin, like grimus, I have both sources running fine and dandy (for now, huehuehue) :)

A few good people, including FurryGuyJeans and grumpy grimus there have stated I'm sure many times this little nugget:

If you install a new Workshop mod, and you use SKSE to start up your game, then just run the Steam Skyrim launcher by starting the game through your library, just to get the launcher up, then let steam update your new installments. once it's finished it's biz, check your plug-ins list there, to see if it has the new mod checked, and then you're good to go, clear for take off, chucks away..tell bomber to take off! Bomb bay doors open! ACHTUNG SCHPITFIRE!!

c.c
oops..time for my pills...

Yes they work together, and BOSS will still manage the load order for you. With that in play, you should be okay.

I think you might have a weird problem if you want a mod for only parts of it - Steam takes an all or nothing approach while NMM will warn you before an overwrite and allow you to adjust appropriately.

Nonsense don't listen to this post. I have 87 mods active,14 off Steam the rest off Nexus and they work perfectly fine. As other have said you should also get Boss.

if they're the same exact mod I don't see why they could cause any problems....I would think that you would just have 2 copies of the mod...like if you have an old version of it from steam or nexus and the updated version on the other at the same time,I don't think it should be a problem, just the updated version replacing the old version, but I don't know I haven't tried having a mod on both before... in other words, yes it will be fine.

They work fine together, but your steam mod manager will never show you full a mount of mods because ot will not count the nexus ones or sometimes it will

This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... I have 188 mods right now and the ratio is about half nexus and half steam. Just because you didn't read mod instructions and compatabilities and weren't willing to work a little to get your mods to work together doesn't give you the right to proclaim that the system is broken, it's not. You're just lazy.

why would you want to download the same mod twice? (this will definitly cause errors by the way, do not do this) The reason to use nexus is for the mods like falskaar that aren't put on steam.

As long as you have mod manager set to the correct directory for your steam version of skyrim then both the data files and the nmm menu should show the mods from both steam and nexus that are active.

They work fine but for steams workshop just stick with weapons+armour mods and use nexus for stuff like followers+new builds and basically anything else
Lord Noob of Noobshire 21 août 2013 à 15h03
They work fine together, just try to be aware of what mods actually do and there should be no probs.

If you have copies of the same mod, whether one is a newer version or not, it will cause all sorts of problems with scripting. About the only way this works is if the mods *only* add/remove items or textures.
